Tool Bar / Context Menu Background: Terminology Related: Tool Bar, Input Box, Combo Box, Tree, Grid, Labels Discussion: The Tool Bar contains buttons for common commands. In DBD for Windows, the Tool Bar is located near the top. In DBD for Pocket PCs, an abridged Tool Bar is located along the bottom. The Context Menu is only available in DBD for Windows. Most Tool Bar and Context Menu commands are in reference to the thing selected in the tree. Right-click any tree node to display the Context Menu. On Pocket PCs, similar but limited functionality is available via Edit and Tools Menus.   
 Create a Thing (Ctrl+T)
- Creates a new thing and relates it next in sequence after selected thing.
Details... Relate as Next in New Sequence (Ctrl+N)
- Marks the selected thing to be related as next in new sequence.
This command is followed by Paste(s).

 Relate as Next in Existing Sequence (Ctrl+M)
- Marks the selected thing to be related as next in existing sequence.
This command is followed by Paste(s).

Clear Sequence - Clears all elements of pending sequence. Details... Add Sequence Element (Ctrl+E) - Adds selected things as a sequence element to the buffer. The buffer's content is displayed in the input box enclosed within square brackets. Click the Submit button after all the elements have been entered. Details...  Cut (Ctrl+X)
- Cuts the selected thing to the buffer.This command is followed by a single Paste.  Copy (Ctrl+C)
- Copies the selected thing to the buffer.This command is followed by Paste(s).  Paste (Ctrl+V)
- Pastes the thing in the buffer as a child of the select tree node.This command is preceeded by Relate As, Cut or Copy. Paste after Sibling - Pastes the thing in the buffer as the next sibling of the select tree node. This command is preceeded by Relate As, Cut or Copy.  Delete (Del)
- Deletes a thing. Delete Sequence... (Ctrl+D)
Deletes the remaining portion of sequences starting from selected element.
It does not delete the thing itself.
Details...
Cascade Delete - Deletes the selected thing's descendants in desired hierarchy. Backing up the database prior to this command is highly recommended.  Move Up
- Moves selected thing up amongst siblings. Move Down
- Moves selected thing down amongst siblings.Export to XML File... - Exports the selected thing and its descendants to an XML file. Details... Generate Anc Report - Generates a Common Ancestor Report for the selected thing and exports it to a tab-delimited text file. Details... |
